Outside pleated layer is a heavier basic ivory khadi type cotton with a light gauze woven into it on the back that stretches with the pleats. This is a fantastic piece, also great for dyeing - I burned and I only see cotton but if using with natural dyes test first of course. Other fibers can sneak in. Pants, jackets, tops, dresses, versatile depending on design.
