Medium weight white linen, it is white so you may want to line with some batiste because there is slight transparency, dress weight but not a super tight weave. The embroidery is a border scalloped along one edge, the quality is excellent. The border stretches for 18" total. The stitching appears to be cotton and looks like cotton.
