Dark rich cabernet high pile alpaca coating but wait this isn't just a pile.....the fibers are clipped in an irregular pattern to give is a finished look designer fur look not just furry. This is a special treatment. This does have some drape, it is not stiff so you can work a cocoon shape, there is a nap. Also will be nice for collars and cuffs in a coat but honestly this is soft so the more the better. I have to add some light to the photos so you can see the texture but this is a dark color. Lovely soft and light, drapes, bright summer plaid all virgin wool. The weave is like a cotton linen but in a wool, it is stupendous. You can play with direction of the pattern, bias works. soft flowing skirts and dresses, shirts and blouses. Lining and slip optional. Up close the weave has a melange, the dark stripes are blue and crimson the lighter are crimson and butter yellow blended. There is a little irridescent finish, it is a cotton poly blend with a sculptural drape similar to a duschesse satin. Weight is like a Spring Summer raincoat type. At first this may look like a simple stripe but upon closer inspection this stripe is extra special especially when looking at the weave on the wrong side. The stripes have varying types if weave on a natural cotton base, the green are raised.
