Please look closely at the floral motif, it has dimensional layers and is indented into the base which is a black with gold specs showing through with some texture it is heavier kind of malleable like a duchess satin. A lovely print from Esc$d$, weight is what I like to call georgette chiffon, has the hand of a georgette but sheer with a bit more body than chiffon. You can under layer this with ivory for a dress or blouse and pairs with the matching fil a coupé. Width: 54" 100% silk Italy, designer surplus

Base is a light habotai with a slight satin finish, semi sheer, floral pattern is denser along the selvedges and wider on one side then becomes more sparse toward the center. This is extra strong gold piping with a finely woven braid tape 1/4" and an 1/8" shiny gold piping. Made for trim on a suiting weight - not like the other similar piping I stock for lighter weight fabric. This is a wonderful piping when you need a little something extra. Sold by the yard. Made in Japan, new imported tape is polyester, the piping is 45% cupro and 55% polyester  

I love this, the tape is like an organdy, it is sheer and perfect for working with lighter weight or semi sheer fabrics or shirts. Metallic gold with white tape from edge to edge total 1/4", the actual gold piping is about 1/16th a little more substantial than the similar satin piping I carry.
