Up close the weave has a melange, the dark stripes are blue and crimson the lighter are crimson and butter yellow blended. There is a little irridescent finish, it is a cotton poly blend with a sculptural drape similar to a duschesse satin. Weight is like a Spring Summer raincoat type. Soft draping wool with a texture woven kind of like a matlassè, basket weave pattern with a slight sheen flat on the opposite. There is a little transparency because of the color but there is body to this. You can make a soft shirt, or line for a dress. It is soft - think Sharon Stone Basic Instinct. Pale ice blue in a gorgeous luxury weight cotton sateen. This is opaque with quite a bit of body, perfect for a dramatic shirt with voluminous and/or structured sleeves.
