Up close the weave has a melange, the dark stripes are blue and crimson the lighter are crimson and butter yellow blended. There is a little irridescent finish, it is a cotton poly blend with a sculptural drape similar to a duschesse satin. Weight is like a Spring Summer raincoat type. Will make a fantastic summer bag, hat, car coat, pencil skirt with a Romeo Gigli sash sculpted. Mix and match with other patterns and fabrics. Produced before this mill was acquired by Loro Piana. At first this may look like a simple stripe but upon closer inspection this stripe is extra special especially when looking at the weave on the wrong side. The stripes have varying types if weave on a natural cotton base, the green are raised. The colors are fantastic, everything about this piece shows an attention to detail that is disappearing, this mill has been "acquired" by an industry behemoth. This is one of the pre-sell out rolls. Summer weight can be used for many different types of garments, pants, skirts, dresses, summer suit jackets. There is some drape but this is suiting so there is some crisp body. The melange is very cool and is available in 3 tones, mix and match. Sand has more ivory and rust together with specs of blue. There is a special machine that makes this, it's a mystery, the base is a nice medium weight crisp cotton with good body for many types of garments, shirts, dresses, skirts, then there are little rayon ribbons with one edge woven into the fabric so it looks kind of like a satin tuck, you cannot tell on the opposite side. I have never seen anything like this it is amazing! It has a kind of pearly sheen, weight is jacket coat weight, it is the softest cotton at this weight I have ever seen, you can make a shawl collar wrap coat with a suri alpaca collar.
