The holiday shopping season is just around the corner so I want to kick things off with a friendly reminder to shop as small as possible for all gift giving purchases. Buy direct from a business and avoid marketplaces like Amazon and Etsy - they increasing take bigger cuts and make bigger profits while squeezing small businesses. Green Pepper (Eugene Oregon) was founded in the 1970's or what I like to call the golden era of sewing and crafting. Since then they have supplied sewers with a classic collection of outdoor patterns with great illustrations and descriptions. Of course you can use traditional fabrics, (I have some great designer waterproof and other type Japanese fabrics below) or you can ask yourself what would your favorite designer do? This is a great method for getting inspired to think outside the box with fabric choices.
